Literally everyone–from the United States government to individual companies, your state, employer, friends, and family–is encouraging you to stay home through the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing is the new norm, but if you need a bite to eat, you may be tempted to venture out.

Fortunately, there are numerous restaurants and delivery services that will allow you to and stay safe and sound in the comfort of your home.

Delivery Fees Waived

As the coronavirus cases continue to rise, delivery fees are being waived to ensure restaurants still get your business and you still have the food you want. Large food delivery services, including Uber Eats and GrubHub, have suspended their delivery fees.

Uber Eats began the suspension of fees in Central Florida on Tuesday and plans to suspend charges nationwide in the next few days. Fees will be waived for all orders from independent restaurants across the U.S. in order to promote health around the world.

GrubHub, another large food delivery chain, announced in a press release that they will also temporarily suspend commission fees. The promise from GrubHub is also subject to the stipulation that your order is from an independent restaurant. Their fees will be waived until they have reached $100 million in waived commission fees.

Restaurants Offering Free Delivery

Depending on where you order from, you can get free delivery from restaurants that have also chosen to waive their own delivery fees. Some are offering free delivery through any platform you choose to order from, while others will only be free if you order directly from the restaurant.

Chipotle, KFC, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Blaze Pizza, and Denny’s are waiving delivery fees. Chipotle was the first chain to announce the free deal which was first available on March 15. They have guaranteed the deal until March 31st – but could extend the free offer based on the state of the nation.

KFC customers can order directly through the KFC website to get free delivery on order through GrubHub. Del Taco has also teamed up with Postmates and is offering free delivery on orders over $15 through March 20 if you use the code DELTACONOW.

You can also get Blaze pizza delivery through Postmates or DoorDash through March 22nd. If you want to get the free deal from Moe’s Southwest Grill, order through their app or website; just spend $10 or more and you’ll get free delivery. Denny’s will also deliver for free until April 12th if you order through their website.
