How to Save on Your Next Las Vegas Trip

Want to go to Las Vegas but don’t want to spend boatloads of money? Don’t worry, it’s possible! It may seem like you need to have a lot of money in order to enjoy Las Vegas, but that’s simply not the case.

In fact, there are so many ways to get great deals in Las Vegas on everything from hotels to airfare to even nightlife. While it may require you to get a little crafty, it’s certainly worth it to save a chunk of change.

Avoid Weekends If Possible

Most people want to go to Las Vegas over a weekend, which is why it’s so much cheaper to fly during the week. In fact, airfare can be ridiculously inexpensive if you fly out on a Tuesday or Wednesday night (depending on where you are in the country).

Not only will you save money on airfare, but everything else in the city is cheaper during the week. It’ll be easier to get a hotel, to enjoy delicious restaurants, and to get into shows. And don’t worry about missing out on the “true Las Vegas experience” if you go during the week, as Las Vegas is just as much fun on a Monday night as it is on a Saturday night.

Bargain With Hotels

Las Vegas is a city full of hotels, which means there are a lot of options to choose from when picking a place to stay. And you know what people always say, “competition benefits the consumer!”

Because there are so many places to stay, hotels in Las Vegas are a lot more likely to give you a great deal in order to get you to stay at their hotel rather than the one next door.

Create a list of the hotels you’d like to stay at and then call each of them to ask what their best rates are. If you really want to play hardball, tell each hotel you were offered a better deal at a different hotel (even if you weren’t).

If You Really Want a Deal, Wait Until the Day Before

Unless it’s peak season in Las Vegas and all the rooms are booked up, they will almost certainly do whatever they can to give you a better deal. And, if you go during the week as mentioned above, hotels will be even more likely to cut you a deal

But, if you’re really wanting to save on a hotel, wait until just a few days before your trip to book your reservation. If a hotel is not full, they will reduce their rates significantly the day of or the day before in order to get last-minute planners to choose their hotel. Only do this if you know there are plenty of hotels with openings, but it will save you some serious coin.
